NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE

Thanks to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and its advocates, women who have no health insurance or low income can get free breast cancer treatments through the Commonwealth of PA’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Program (BCCPT). If you qualify you can get free healthcare which includes medical care unrelated to breast or cervical cancer.

FREE BREAST CANCER TREATMENT IN PA

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women besides skin cancer. The CDC website has information about breast cancer, screening details and information on how to findfree mammogram screenings in your area.

BREAST RESOURCES AND MAMMOGRAMS

Here is a good list of toll-free help lines for people with breast cancer and other types of cancer. This list includes the numbers for the American Cancer Society, Cancer Care Inc., Cancer Research Foundations of America, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, Medicare Hotline, National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO), National Cancer Institute, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

BREAST CANCER HELPLINES

If you can, donate money to pay for a mammogram for an uninsured woman. This is through the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Their website has a great deal of information and resources, including how to get a free mammogram if you’re low income or uninsured.
